Cry Out

We are about to embark on a journey as a church to learn to worship better. You may be thinking, “It’s going to take a miracle to get me to sing better.” This is not talking about singing – that is just one tool in our spiritual toolbox. This is about perspective and choices and opportunities and accountability and experiencing God to the fullest. We are going to  learn how to worship the way God desires and deserves to be worshipped.

To understand worship we first have to understand prayer. Prayer is the foundation of healthy, biblical worship. Prayer may be the most powerful and underutilized tool in our spiritual toolbox. We have talked about prayer before, but we have to do better than a 30-day challenge. We have to make it an integral part of our DNA. If it is not important to us, we can’t expect it to be important to anyone else.

The challenge this time is to create two habits. The first is letting prayer needs known to church leaders and people you know will actually pray for you. The second is writing down pr journalling prayers to keep track of what you are praying for and when and how God answers them. If we can do this as individuals and as a church, it is an absolute certainty we will begin to experience and worship God in ways we never have before.

It’s time to go deeper. It’s time to let go, give up, lean in, and cry out!
